About Mike O’Brien & Boston Lacrosse Academy

Mike O’Brien founded Boston Lacrosse Academy in 2018. Mike played professionally in the National Lacrosse League for the Minnesota Swarm and the Professional Lacrosse League for the Charlotte Copperheads. A graduate of Hobart College, Mike played four years of Division I lacrosse as a three year starter and captain during his senior year. Mike attributes his playing and coaching success to his early exposure to indoor lacrosse in Canada. Mike serves as the Associate Vice President of Advancement at Wheaton College (Norton, MA) and has worked for independent schools in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic for over a decade where he has coached state championship teams and has twice been named Coach of the Year. In 2021, Mike was the Head Coach of Team USA’s U15 Indoor Team that won a silver medal in the International Indoor Junior Lacrosse Championship (IIJL) — the farthest a U.S. team has gone in international competition.

Boston Lacrosse Academy is committed to providing youth, high school and college level players with high level instruction from the area’s best coaches.
